Graduates earn 674 degrees, certificates from Northeastern Junior College

About 26 percent of the 674 degrees and certificates handed out by the Northeastern Junior College in 2016-17 were to students in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Sterling conferred 175 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 83 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 77 certificates in Automobile/Automotive Mechanics Technology/Technician and 75 certificates in Business Administration and Management, General.

The college enrolled 1,645 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
