CASTLE ROCK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Jan 22 Council update: new public art piece for Philip S. Miller Park approved; draft 2019 Community Survey moves forward

Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Jan. 23.

In a study session Tuesday night, Town Council heard an overview of current development in Castle Rock and planned maintenance and improvements to the Town’s roads. Following the study session, Council officially called its meeting to order and approved new artwork for Philip S. Miller Park. The artwork is part of the Public Art Commission’s goal to acquire art for public buildings and parks, and is funded through the Philip S. Miller Trust Fund, and not through taxpayer dollars.

Here’s a look at another item Council discussed Tuesday:

Discussion/direction regarding the Town’s 2019 Community Survey – staying in touch with residents is a key priority for the Town. A community survey is part of the Town’s 2019 Major Projects Work Program. The Town has retained Northwest Research Group to conduct the survey. Town Council heard a presentation from the firm and approved the draft survey.

The goal of the survey is to help the Town better understand how the community views its Town government. The final survey will be scientifically administered online and by phone from mid-February to mid-March. Results are anticipated in April and will be used for ongoing strategic planning and budgeting purposes.

The Community Survey is conducted every two years. Learn more about the 2017 results at CRgov.com/2017survey.
