WESTMINSTER CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Council selects Haney, Voelz


Westminster Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Jan. 29.

Westminster City Council on Jan. 28 selected Michele Haney and Jon Voelz to fill the vacancies created by the resignation of former Councillors Shannon Bird and Emma Pinter.

Haney will fulfill the rest of Bird’s term, which expires in November 2019. Voelz will fulfill the rest of Pinter’s term, which expires in November 2021.

Bird was elected to the office of State Representative, House District 35, and Pinter was elected to the office of Adams County Commissioner, District 3.

Haney is president of Red Rocks Community College and a former member of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Voelz is a former legislative aide at the Colorado General Assembly and a former member of the Inclusivity Board.

Following the vote, Haney and Voelz were sworn in to office by Municipal Judge Tiffany Sorice and seated as members of City Council.
