Graduates earn 3,073 degrees, certificates from Red Rocks Community College


About 21.5 percent of the 3,073 degrees and certificates handed out by Red Rocks Community College in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Lakewood conferred 601 certificates and 59 associate's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in fire science/fire-fighting. Data shows the school gave out 271 certificates in fire science/fire-fighting, followed by 253 certificates in emergency medical technology/technician (emt paramedic) and 233 associate's degrees in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies.

The college enrolled 7,355 students for 2017-18, including 7,323 in undergraduate programs and 32 in graduate programs.
