CASTLE ROCK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Planning to vote in the March 3 Presidential Primary Election?

Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Jan. 28.

If you are a registered Democratic, Republican or unaffiliated voter in Douglas County, anticipate the arrival of your Presidential Primary ballot by mail the week of Feb. 10, and become election-ready starting now. Here’s your checklist:

Check or update your voter registration or register to vote. DouglasVotes.com is your one-stop shop to register, check voter registration status, update your mailing address, check or change your party status, or view a sample ballot. You will also find important dates and deadlines leading up to the Tuesday, March 3 Presidential Primary Election.

Voters who are affiliated with a political party must change or withdraw their affiliation by Monday, Feb. 3 if they wish to vote in different party’s Presidential Primary Election. Because there are no minor party contests, voters affiliated with a minor party will not receive a Presidential Primary ballot.

Are you an Unaffiliated voter? Did you know that you may choose which major party’s primary you wish to participate in? Unaffiliated voters will receive TWO mail ballots (one Democratic and one Republican) but may return ONLY ONE. Visit DouglasVotes.com and read the 2020 Presidential Primary Election Frequently Asked Questions for more information.

Are you 17 but will be 18 by the Nov. 3, 2020, General Election? Then you are able to vote in the March 3 Presidential Primary Election. If you meet these criteria and are pre-registered to vote you will receive a ballot by mail. You may register to vote at DouglasVotes.com or by visiting a Voter Service and Polling Center on Election Day. Visit the 2020 Presidential Primary Election Frequently Asked Questions for more information.

Is your voter registration mailing address accurate? If your mailing address has changed since you last voted in a Douglas County election update your voter registration information at DouglasVotes.com to ensure you receive your ballot and other important election information.

Locate your closest ballot drop box and Vote Early. Near You. Did you know that more than 80 percent of Douglas County voters prefer to deliver their ballots for free using one of the convenient ballot drop box locations countywide? The boxes will be open Feb. 10, 2020 through 7 p.m. on Election Day, March 3, 2020.

What if I prefer to vote in-person? You may visit a Voter Service and Polling Center (VSPC) of your choice to deliver your mail ballot or vote in-person, up until 7 p.m. on Election Day. VSPCs are conveniently located throughout Douglas County beginning Feb. 24.
